Here are 175 clean, funny “never have I ever” questions in seven groups: everyday embarrassing moments, family and teens, friends, food, travel, work and little kids. There’s nothing sexual and nothing about drinking or drugs, so the list works for a family reunion, a youth group or a mixed office party. Read them aloud, or print our free “I Have Never” cards and let players draw.
The game is simple. Everyone holds up ten fingers. Someone reads a statement, and anyone who has done that thing puts a finger down. The last player with fingers left wins, and everyone learns something about everyone else along the way.
Our printable deck has 60 of the best mixed-crowd statements, written as “I have never…” cards you can shuffle and pass around.

How to play “never have I ever”
- Sit in a circle. Everyone holds up ten fingers (five for a shorter game).
- The first player reads a statement, like “Never have I ever locked my keys in the car.”
- Anyone who has done it puts one finger down. The reader only puts a finger down if the card is true for them too.
- Anyone who put a finger down can tell the story in a sentence or two, if they want to. Nobody has to.
- Pass to the left. The last player with a finger still up wins.
A ten-finger game with eight people usually lasts 15 to 25 minutes. With a deck of cards, it moves faster than when people make up their own, because nobody stalls trying to think of one.
- Nothing, if you play with fingers

I Have Never for Kids

Other ways to play
Candy counters. Give each player ten pieces of wrapped candy. Anyone who has done the thing hands one piece to the reader. It’s a nice twist for kids, because the reader gets rewarded for picking good statements.
Stand up, sit down. For a room of 20 or more, everyone starts seated. The host reads a statement, and anyone who has done it stands. It works well at a reunion, a classroom party or a big office meeting. Keep the reading pace quick.
Points for the rare ones. If only one person puts a finger down, they get a point instead of losing a finger. Players start hunting for the weird thing only they’ve done, which is where the best stories come from.
Name the culprit. The reader draws a card silently and has everyone else guess which person at the table has done it. Then it’s read aloud for the finger count.
Before a mixed-age party, flip through the deck and pull any card that might put someone on the spot. A statement like “broken a bone” is fun at most tables and not so fun a month after someone’s accident.
Keeping it fun for everyone
The point of the game is stories, not secrets. A few habits keep it that way:
- Nobody has to explain. “Pass” is always a full answer.
- Don’t write statements aimed at one person in the room. It turns a group game into a spotlight.
- Let people keep their fingers honest. Arguing over whether a fender-bender “counts” wastes the momentum.
- Stop while people are still laughing. If a round goes quiet, switch to a different game.
